rewind. summer 2010.

I'm going to try and sum up our Summer 2010 and all the things that happened in a few words, and lots of pictures. Here we go!

JUNE
Saturday the 12th - To celebrate C turning 6 months old, we had a half-birthday cookout in her honor! In attendance were - Us, BOTH sets of Grandparents, Uncle Will, Aunt Lisa & Uncle Casey, Cousins Hunter and Austin, and G-G and Great Daddy (great grandparents).

Dad discovered how much she loved to stand up! And she still does!

Sunday the 13th - After a long, fussy 1/2 birthday weekend, we decided C's ears were not getting any better! So Sunday night, G-G (Patsy) offered to give us her appointment with our ENT and on Monday (the 14th) we saw the doctor, discussed, and he said we were good-to-go for tubes. The next day, Tuesday morning (the 15th), Claire had the surgery to have the tubes put in. Crazy. I know. He worked us in before he went on vacation. We couldn't wait 3 more weeks. We'd already waited 6 weeks to get into him to begin with. She's feeling much better now.

Cousin Kathryn got to stop by on her way through Amarillo for Aspen for the summer. She's our Julliard prodigy. Elizabeth, our tennis prodigy who made Lubbock Coronado Varsity Tennis as a freshman, and also Kathryn's sister, also stopped by to say hello to Claire while in Amarillo for a tennis tournament. So great to see them! Elizabeth is pictured first, and Kathryn second.

The end of June brought a week long trip for Claire and me to Denison. We celebrated mom's birthday, C had her first "official" hair cut (which she hated, but Misty was so sweet) and we took some great first 4th of July pics. Denison was also really fun because Uncle Will was there and liked to make C laugh!

JULY
July 3rd - The world seemed to stand still for us. Travis' grandfather, Austin Bowes, went home to be with the Lord. He was a wonderful and incredible man who has left such a lasting legacy behind in his wife, two daughters, and their families and many former students. He was someone who desired and strived to be like Christ in all that he did. We are all better for knowing him. He is missed daily.

July 4th
Claire's First 4th of July!

Hunter turned 3 years old! He had a fun party in Grandma and Grandpa's back yard. Lots of cute little kids! And Claire got to meet Uncle Ray and Aunt Becky for the first time.

Travis built Claire the sweetest swing set you've ever seen. She loves it!

We took our Crawley family vacation to Horseshoe Bay at the end of July. We were there in full force. 5 Crawleys, 2 Super Trooper Spouses, 1 Baby, and 2 Dogs. Travis got to fly fish, the guys got to night fish off the dock, Claire got to swim in the pool, and we made it to our favorite hill country eatery - Cooper's BBQ in Llano. One the way back to Amarillo, we stopped in Round Rock to meet Mr. Cole Miles Dunn, Katrina's baby boy, for the first time. He was precious! Pretty great vacation.

AUGUST
August was full of firsts for Miss Claire!
*Finally rolling from back to tummy
*Laying on tummy and pushing all the way up to sitting
*Pulling up all by herself in her crib
*Crawling
*1st tooth
*2nd tooth (six days later)
*Pulling up on anything possible

Here are some pictures documenting milestones and fun in the month of August, Claire was 8 months old.

After Church

When she pulled up in her crib for the first time! She's so proud!

How she likes to sleep at 8 months.

We love bath time!

Cute little Claire bear!

First taste of avocadoes

Not too sure about these avocadoes

She's starting to LOVE Cooper! She smiles at him, looks for him, and laughs when he licks her.

I was SHOCKED to see that she could do this when she was supposed to be napping

Someone was really proud to see me. I realized my somewhat laid back days, were soon coming to an end. :)

I love these sweet hands.

Her first tooth!!!

We love this picture of her. We laugh every time we see it. We love that WILD look in her eyes. She gives us the cutest, funniest, and sweetest looks... we love it!
